Indonesia Asri offers a variety of environmental actions under the #AksiAsri banner. Curious about the programs you can participate in? Here is the explanation:

1. #AksiAsri Operasi Semut

If you are one of our loyal readers, you must already be familiar with Operasi Semut. Operasi Semut is a sustainable environmental initiative that focuses on educating people about waste sorting before disposal, using the hashtag #pilahsampah.

In 2025, Operasi Semut already had eight volumes, which were held at various events. Here are the details of each volume:

A. Volume 1

Operasi Semut Volume 1 was held during Car Free Day Jakarta on January 29, 2023. The overwhelming amount of waste produced by offline events like concerts and Car Free Day is the reason behind the first Operasi Semut.

Therefore, Indonesia Asri, through Operasi Semut, promotes waste sorting before disposal and implements a circular economy to preserve the environment.

B. Volume 2

With the same background as Volume 1, Operasi Semut was held for a second volume during Car Free Day Jakarta, specifically on May 28, 2023. During the first and second volumes of Operasi Semut, the total waste collected was 22.65 kg, which consisted of both organic and inorganic waste.

C. Volumes 3 and 4

The third and fourth volumes of Operasi Semut were held to coincide with the 2023 Jakarta Marathon. The third volume of action was held during the pre-event of the 2023 Jakarta Marathon, specifically on October 8, 2023, at Plaza Senayan.

Meanwhile, the fourth volume of environmental action was held during the main event of the 2023 Jakarta Marathon on October 22, 2023, at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium (GBK).

One of the reasons for holding Volumes 3 and 4 at the 2023 Jakarta Marathon was the growing trend of sporting events in Indonesia. Thousands of sports enthusiasts and runners attend these sporting events.

Operasi Semut is also held at events like this to reach a wider audience and educate more people about the circular economy and the importance of waste sorting.

D. Volume 5

Operasi Semut Volume 5 was held in Kota Tua, Jakarta, on June 2, 2024. This volume was held to celebrate World Environment Day, which takes place on June 5, 2024.

The Operasi Semut team chose Kota Tua because it is a historic site frequently visited by tourists. As a result, we reached a wider audience and educated them about the importance of sorting waste before disposal. This volume of Operasi Semut successfully collected 24 kg of garbage.

E. Volumes 6 and 7

Both volumes were held at Istora Senayan, specifically during the Jakarta Running Festival, on October 12–13, 2024. Interestingly, this volume combined education, entertainment, and a waste cleanup campaign, showcasing recycled products and featuring environmentally themed games. Over the two days, we collected 75 kg of waste.

F. Volume 8

Operasi Semut Volume 8 was held at Baywalk Mall on May 4, 2025, specifically during the Jakarta Martial Arts Extravaganza. We introduced the concept of green sports to uphold environmentally friendly practices in the world of sports.

Furthermore, the activities in this volume encouraged the audience to sort waste using circular economy principles, where waste can be recycled into something meaningful or of economic value.

In addition to providing education on waste sorting, Volume 8 also showcased various products processed from plastic waste by the Chandra Asri Group, such as RDF Pellets, plastic asphalt, and RDF Briquettes. More than that, there were also several fun games organized to test the audience’s knowledge regarding sustainability and the environment.

2. #AksiAsri Beralih

The following environmental action is Beralih (Buka Bersama sambil Pilah-Pilih), an Iftar Gathering event, which takes place during Ramadan. The reason for this action is to boost a spirit of waste sorting during Ramadan, a time when waste production often increases due to increased consumption.

Furthermore, another goal is to strengthen bonds within the Warga Asri community, bringing its members closer together. Beralih sessions have been done three times, at Skyloft Thamrin on March 31, 2023, and included a breakfast together and an educational talk show.

Next, Beralih 2.0 was held at Greyhound Cafe on March 27, 2024, and included an interactive discussion on the circular economy and waste sorting practices.

Moreover, Beralih 3.0 was held on March 20, 2025, at Aroem Resto & Cafe. This session includes an interactive discussion on how used cooking oil is processed under the MINYAKU (Manajemen Pengumpulan Minyak Jelantah untuk Lingkungan) program by the Chandra Asri Group.

3. Content Creator Bootcamp

The Chandra Asri Group and Indonesia Asri strive to stay current by combining digital and sustainability elements. By educating content creators about environmental conservation on social media, we hope they can pass this passion on to their followers.

As a result, more people will share impactful content that emphasizes the importance of a sustainable lifestyle and environmental conservation.

4. Merangkai Harapan untuk Indonesia Asri

“Merangkai Harapan untuk Indonesia Asri” is an initiative in collaboration with the Kompas Gramedia Growth Center. It is held to share knowledge with children, particularly regarding dreams and the importance of growing up in a healthy and beautiful environment.

5. #CircleofBeauty

#CircleofBeauty was created to raise awareness of sustainable beauty. The campaign was motivated by the recent rise in beauty and cosmetics trends. We leveraged this trend to educate beauty enthusiasts on how to more wisely sort their waste before disposing of it.

We launched #CircleofBeauty 1.0 on October 29, 2022, and discussed the importance of processing and sorting skincare product waste before disposal. Although the event was held online, the enthusiasm of beauty enthusiasts was very high.

Then, #CircleofBeauty 2.0 was held at the Morrissey Hotel Jakarta on February 20, 2024, and discussed the importance of processing cosmetic waste into products with economic value. For this event, Indonesia Asri collaborated with a local cosmetic brand, Mineral Botanica.

Then, #CircleofBeauty 3.0 was held in Tulum, Jakarta, on November 28, 2024, to discuss the importance of wisely managing personal care product packaging waste, such as soap and shampoo, following circular economy principles, and recycling it into valuable items. We collaborated with Rumah Atsiri for this event.

#CircleofBeauty 4.0 was held at Ganara Rumah Wijaya, South Jakarta, with the theme “Mindful Beauty, Mindful Earth.” In the fourth session, held on June 25, 2025, Indonesia Asri promoted waste sorting techniques, combined with body wellness activities such as yoga. For this event, we collaborated with Earth Love Life.

We believe that a healthy Earth comes from a healthy body. Therefore, to adopt a sustainable lifestyle, you must first have a healthy and fit body.

6. #SiPalingSustainable

#SiPalingSustainable is our initiative to encourage people to adopt a sustainable and environmentally friendly lifestyle, featuring exciting challenges such as Si Paling Kendaraan Umum, Si Paling Olahraga, Si Paling Pilah Sampah, and more.
